26 people were killed and 100 wounded in an explosion in a coal power plant near the city of Gulch in northern India, reports say.
Authorities say that the death toll could rise due to the fact that another group has been submerged. The coal-fired power plant belongs to the Indian National Coal Corp.
Initial investigations have revealed that the explosion had occurred as a result of intra-pressure explosions, police said. People have said that with a loud noise there was steam and gas.
